KITCHENS

PROJECT ONE

The dark and dated kitchen was waiting for Team Houselift to give it a new lease on life! We ripped up the old black slate tiles and replaced them with a large format light grey tile instead. Sadly, the existing wooden floors stopped at the edge of the kitchen: these were sanded down and treated with a mahogany varnish. We had to move the whole living area away from the dated orangey woods. The cupboards were then all stripped and painted, new handles installed. A beautiful glass tile was installed behind the stove as a practical and stylish splashback. We added three pendant lights at the breakfast bar, some slick bar stools, and dummy fabric blinds to finish off the look.

This is one of those transformations where even I had my breathe taken away! And these wonderful clients employed us to transform a number of other areas in their home, once they were blown away by the end result.

PROJECT TWO

We all know that a great kitchen elevates the value of your home. But alot of you need to flip without having the massive budget that a new kitchen would require. That’s where Team Houselift comes to the rescue; for a fraction of the price,  we can help lift and update your kitchen.

Here’s one that we recently completed in Bryanston. The client sent me a Pinterest picture (I know, I know; nothing looks as good as a Pinterest picture in REAL life). And, I went to great efforts to make sure that the eventual result wasn’t far off.

A lick of paint, some cupboard remodeling around the fridge section, a new extractor fan, new handles and new marble-look quartz work tops and splash-backs. Once that was all completed we decided to paint the wooden window frames and internal doors in white to keep the lighter flow going. Oh, and new updated plugs and switches were installed to help eliminate pesky cables!

The client was blown away and had this to say: “The kitchen is beyond stunning! Total transformation beyond what I imagined! Wow…you do stunning work Ingrid.” – Charlotte M.

PROJECT THREE

Once we were allowed to resume working after the Covid lockdown, these clients were first up as they needed to move into their new home before their first child arrives. Nothing about the kitchen filled them with joy so Team Houselift came to rescue them! We removed all the wall tiles and rhinolited & painted instead. I sourced this gorgeous oblong marble-look tile which we used for splashbacks. The cupboards were sanded, prepped and painted in a crisp white and the floor tiles replaced with sleek white porcelain ones. The end result was astounding; hard to believe it was the same kitchen.

PROJECT FOUR

This fully functional cherrywood kitchen was doing the new owners of this house’s head in, and so we swiftly repainted the shell, the doors and the drawer fronts and the walls and the dated bulkhead. We replaced the handles with more modern ones and… it feels like a brand new kitchen for a fraction of what a new one would cost…

PROJECT FIVE

This client moved back into this apartment that she had been renting out for a few years. The kitchen was tired and needed a lift; we added some additional cupboards to maximise the storage space, replaced all the existing door fronts with a wood-look melamine, installed some floating shelves, custom-made a unit to house the microwave and added some panels to the existing wall mounted cupboards to take them right up to the ceiling. AND we managed to do this all in under two weeks!

PROJECT SIX

A kitchen makeover doesn’t always have to mean a complete overhaul. For this client we painted the kitchen cupboards, the wall tiles and the ceiling (and added a more up-to-date cornice) and totally transormed this space! The end result was a kitchen that the whole family loves and nothing makes me happier!
