PROJECT ONE
Last year I was privileged enough to be “given” this house by my clients for the duration of their holiday; time to gut, strip and start afresh with new flooring, multiple licks of paint and then all the fun stuff! This was the scheme that I put together for their main bedroom and adjacent study area. From there we set to work, making up and installing beautiful new sheer and blockout wave curtains, waiting for wallpaper to arrive from Hertex Fabrics sourcing new cotton bedlinen and making up bespoke feather scatter cushions for the bed. I added in a much needed pause/seating area topped off with an amazing nguni hide rug. The study shelves were painted and then colour co-ordinated and styled. The end result was a bedroom suite that made for big smiles all around; nothing better than a dah-dah room reveal when you get home from holiday! Thank you to these amazing clients who trusted me with the process of Houselifting their home.

PROJECT TWO
This clients’ main bedroom desperately needed a spruce up and I was delighted to be given the task; nothing better than a blank slate to work from!
We started by choosing a wallpaper; keeping it calm and textured in neutral stones, slight shimmers and creams. A customised buttoned headboard not only adds a grandeur but also a degree of comfort. The bedside pedestals were custom made by one of our clever artisans; oak veneer with steel leg details. Gorgeous bedside lamps add a chic element. New cotton bedlinen and scatters amped up the glam on the bed. Then we reupholstered an existing armchair and added a footstool for lazy days with a book.

PROJECT THREE
This client has been waiting patiently to transform their main bedroom. Out with the old and in with the new; carpets, cupboards, bed, pedestals, wave curtains and of course this feature wallpaper! And now their main bedroom looks like a dream space in which to unwind and relax.

PROJECT FOUR
This client was super excited to revamp her bedroom after many years; as a busy executive she didn’t have the time to be overly involved and so gave me free rein. I started with a gorgeous printed floral fabric from Hertex and used it as the main curtain and blind fabric. We painted the walls and the cherrywood cupboards in a soft oatmeal colour to freshen up the shell of the room. My team of upholsterers made up a flat studded headboard which backed a brand new bed with a hotel-quality set of new bed basics and crisp Egyptian cotton bedlinen. The bed was finished off with a luxurious fur throw and some dusty pink scatters. The shelving units were styled with new objet, vases, containers, frames, flowers and greenery. A light grey nguni hide helped warm up the painted floor. An accent painted wall highlighted the newly framed artwork collection. There were lots of (happy) tears when the room was revealed and followed up by an email saying “”I am absolutely delighted with what you have managed to achieve here and will recommend you to anybody who is remotely interested – thank you so much!!”

PROJECT FIVE
This main bedroom was a blank canvas just waiting to be transformed! After removing the awful curtains, replacing the floor and painting the walls, we wallpapered the back feature wall in a subtle neutral damask design; pretty but not too “girly”. A custom made diamond buttoned headboard was flanked by two mirrored drawer pedestals. Crisp white cotton bedlinen was treated to some bespoke scatters in co-ordinating embroidered silk and sumptuous velvets. We made up our all-time favorite wave curtains in a plain stone sheer and backed it with a blockout lining [which gives a true hotel feel!] A custom made chaise longue was made up for the opposite corner; making an idyllic spot for lazy afternoon lounging. I sourced a mirrored dressing table and made up a very clever box stool which houses the hair brushes, hair irons and dryers. My framer made up this stunning mirror which just completes the glam feel of this main bedroom.

PROJECT SIX
With a high-impact wall mural printed up and installed, the rest of this guest bedroom room transformation was fairly easy to pull off. We added a new upholstered bed in a charcoal linen fabric, some crisp white bedlinen, a few luxurious feather scatter cushions, custom-made wave curtains in a soft dove grey velvet and some quirky bedside tables and boom! This room took on a whole new life and my client now eagerly invites guests to stay over.

PROJECT SEVEN
I helped this couple update their bedroom last year. The walls were painted out in a light grey colour and a feature wall of subtle neutral wallpaper installed behind the bed. We repaired, sanded and stained the wooden floors in a dark mahogany varnish which automatically updated the look of the room. The final touch was a new set of wave curtains made up with blockout lining, perfect for late lie-ins. They’re chuffed which makes me chuffed.
