dining areas
From concept to completion
This client came to us looking to elevate and refresh her dining room. After reviewing the "before" photos and discussing the brief, we created a few 3D visuals to bring the vision to life.
Once it was approved, it was time for team Houselift to make it all happen.
We resized and reupholstered her existing dining room chairs in a durable neutral light-stone fabric, the walls were painted, the existing mirror reframed, a new light fitting installed and the perfect floor rug selected to complete the space.
The result? A calm, sophisticated space, designed for gathering.

There isn’t always budget for brand new key pieces of furniture, and being the eternal realist, I often suggest upcycling items. For this client, we painted her dining table; the size worked so well and the cost to paint and finish with a piece of glass was a fraction of what a new one would have cost. Her dining chairs had their backs cut down to give them a more up-to-date look, legs were sprayed and finally upholstered in a gorgeous charcoal patterned velvet. The original rug had had it’s day and was replaced with a bigger and more practical outdoor rug (also perfect for indoor use with kids and pets). The fireplace chimney got a hollow clock which worked perfectly above a few object which completed the floating shelf. As a permanent and stylish centerpiece, I had this faux orchid arrangement made up in a silver champagne bucket. The coffee station at the end of the area was given an oomph with a few large jugs, greenery and then my favourite bit; some styling help.
The end result was fantastic; I think the before and after pics say it all. As does the message from this chuffed client “Thanks for everything Ingrid. Have had so many people say how lovely the house is looking.”

A common brief that we get is the need for a room refresh.
These clients had made some decor mistakes in the
past and wanted a professional eye to guide their living
space in the right direction.
The existing curtains were taken down altogether; they were never used and cluttered up the doors leading onto their patio.
We decided to custom make new dining chairs
using a super durable fabric from Hertex Fabrics . This
way we got the exact style that we wanted, in the fabric
of our choice and included two carvers for the top and
tail of their large dining table.
This space was totally refreshed, much more inviting
and the clients were so chuffed.

We transformed this dining area with some of the clients existing pieces which we updated; painted and varnished her dining table and cut down and reupholstered her existing chairs. For a bit of punch we painted an accent wall and completed with an arched mirror, expertly installed by our team. We hid the ugly burglar bars with wall-to-wall wave curtains in a self-striped sheer fabric. This client was excited to begin her next life chapter in her transformed space.
